Privacy policy

Effective November 1, 2026. Applies to the DM Focus browser extension.

Short version

DM Focus does not collect, store, sell or transmit any personal data. Nothing leaves your browser.

What the extension does

DM Focus runs only on instagram.com. It hides parts of the page (feed posts, Reels, Explore, suggestions) and changes how videos play. To find those parts it looks at the layout of the page in your browser. It does not read, copy or send your messages, contacts, posts or any other content.

What is stored

Only your settings: which switches are on or off. They are kept in Chrome's built-in sync storage, under your Google account, and sync across your own browsers if you have Chrome sync turned on. We cannot see them. Removing the extension removes them.

What is not collected

No accounts. No analytics. No cookies of our own. No tracking pixels. No servers. No data shared with or sold to third parties. No data used for advertising, credit or lending decisions.

Permissions

storage: to remember your settings. Access to instagram.com: to hide page elements on that site only.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
